Latest Highlights

Ghost Whisperer 8:00 pm  ET

Most people would rather forget high school, but in the new episode "Big Chills," Melinda (Jennifer Love Hewitt) finds herself reliving the old days with a group of ex-classmates when one dies mysteriously. Hmmm, sounds like the perfect opportunity to take a walk down memory lane to the other side. Rachael Leigh Cook ("She's All That") and Jason London ("Wildfire") guest star

The Starter Wife 9:00 pm  ET

Good golly, Miss Molly! The 2007 miniseries about a Hollywood divorcee was so well-received that it's back as a series. Debra Messing ("Will & Grace") returns as Molly Kagan, who found herself not only newly single but almost friendless when her hubby, a movie studio executive, cut her loose. She managed to hang on to a couple of pals and is now discovering some new interests -- romantic and otherwise. Judy Davis and Chris Diamantopoulos also star.

History of the World: Part I 10:00 pm  ET

Sending up Westerns, "Frankenstein" and silent movies wasn't enough for Mel Brooks -- he also revised mankind's history. The writer-director targets the Roman Empire, the French Revolution and the Spanish Inquisition in the vignettes that comprise this 1981 comedy. Brooks plays several roles including Moses; co-stars include Dom DeLuise, Madeline Kahn, Harvey Korman and Gregory Hines. (By the way, there never was a "Part II.")

Chapter 27 7:30 pm  ET

A bloated mess. That describes both this 2007 drama and its antihero: Mark David Chapman, who assassinated John Lennon. What could have been a compelling study of a troubled mind is instead an hour and a half in the company of a creepy guy who'll have you wanting a shower afterward. Jared Leto reportedly gained 70 pounds to play Chapman, but he fails to truly become the character. You may find yourself wishing he'd shoot Lennon already, just to get this ordeal over with.

America's Toughest Jobs 8:00 pm  ET

The six remaining contestants head to Salinas, Calif., to learn to drive a monster truck through a self-built course. On competition day, the contestants will offload their trucks, install 800-pound tires, do a safety check, crush cars and be judged on how they operate their trucks -- hopefully in a safe, imaginative and unique way. At the end, one competitor will be monster truckin' right out of the arena.

Most Haunted Live! 8:00 pm  ET

October is here -- let the frights begin! The paranormal investigation series makes television history with the first-ever live broadcast from what's reputed to be the most haunted town in America -- Gettysburg, Pa. For seven hours, Travel Channel will visit historically significant locations and landmarks in and around the town. Viewers at home can take part by monitoring webcams and text-messaging the crew!

The Princess Bride 8:00 pm  ET

A grandfather (Peter Falk) decides to entertain his ill grandson (Fred Savage) by reading him a fairy tale. He tells the story of a young couple reunited after believing they had lost each other forever. Before they can live happily ever after, they must face bounty hunters and an evil prince. Directed by Rob Reiner, this adventuresome 1987 film also stars Cary Elwes, Mandy Patinkin, Robin Wright, Billy Crystal and Carol Kane.

Where the Boys Are 8:00 pm  ET

This 1960 romp is better known for its title song -- written by Neil Sedaka and sung by Connie Francis -- than for its brilliant acting or complicated plot, but it did help usher in the amusing beach movies of the decade. Francis is one of four college girls looking for fun in Fort Lauderdale on spring break. They find it in the form of boys like a very young George Hamilton. It was on this movie that he perfected his Hamil-TAN.

Wife Swap 8:00 pm  ET

In the new episode "McCaslin/Deekens," a woman who can bench-press 341 pounds swaps lives with a woman who believes a lady never lifts any sort of weight and sweating is for beasts. The McCaslins of New York -- wife Sandi, husband Zane, and daughters Sarah and Kerri -- all hold bench-pressing and power-lifting records. The Deekenses of Virginia live a life of quiet and gentility. Wife Donna is on a mission to bring femininity back.

Making Mr. Right 9:00 pm  ET

John Malkovich should sue. Not to be confused with his 1987 romantic comedy about an android and the woman who falls for him, this limp, gender-reversed "My Fair Lady" imitator stars Christina Cox ("Blood Ties") as an uptight magazine editor who bets a friend that she can turn a scruffy, unsavory dude into a candidate for bachelor of the year. Since said dude is played by Dean Cain, he cleans up nice -- visually at least. Then it's off to Cliche Land, where she teaches him manners, he teaches her to loosen up, and ... well, you know the rest.

Stargate Atlantis 9:00 pm  ET

With the Daedalus under siege, Dr. Jackson and Dr. McKay (Michael Shanks, David Hewlett) have been forced to reactivate the Attero device, a machine designed thousands of years ago to annihilate Wraiths. In doing so, they discover the reason the weapon was abandoned is because it inadvertently causes active stargates to self-destruct. Meanwhile, Todd (Christopher Heyerdahl) and his troops hold the crew captive.

Life 10:00 pm  ET

A university's prison experiment goes horribly wrong when a student acting as a corrections officer ends up dead. Crews and Reese (Damian Lewis, Sarah Shahi) race the clock to find the killer. As they interview both prisoners and guards, the detectives discover the social experiment may have done more harm than good. Victor Rivers also stars in the new episode "Not for Nothing."

NUMB3RS 10:00 pm  ET

In this new episode, the team investigates a pattern of increased ATM kidnappings when a woman who was abducted and forced to withdraw money is murdered. Meanwhile, Charlie (David Krumholtz) meets the investigator, Carl McGowan (Keith Carradine) who will decide the fate of his FBI security clearance. Rob Morrow also stars in "The Decoy Effect."
